I decided to jot down the ups and down in this new world of paintball tournement. Some may feel that i write outspoken or even direct but rest assured that my writings are personal and only this thoughts that bump in my head.
MPOC-LEG TWO: Mardi KL
TTLBZ are in the Division two. With another 9 teams, we fought to qualify for the quarter finals, grouped with Vatolocos, G.Clerics and others, it seemed a bit hard. Even with Terry joining us. The fact that we hardly train and not worked together as a team seems that we tend to be a bit off.
DAY ONE
Opening match: The Simpsons: Team brief: Have seen this guys play and they are quite good, with strong team communication and time together, quite fast at times.
MATCH: Lost 3-0: We were simply off balance and paid the price for it, they seemed to opened up on the snake and took us down one by one. disoriented.
Second Match: KSK Flash: Team Brief: Our team that has been among us since D4 days. They are great at holding and when attacking can be very fast and fierce.
MATCH: Won 3-0: We managed to break thier attacked and found the loop hole thru the snake side and take control of the game.
Third Match: VatoLocos: Team Brief: This one of the teams that we have been trying to emulate, they are like our seniors, Fast and able to switch the game even if they are outnumbered. Truly a fearsome team.
MATCH: Draw: A hard battle, won the first round but lost the second to them and the third but manage to steal a point by the whiskers of our skin on the fourth. They moved fast and adapted to our play fast.
Fourth Match: Dark Knights: Team Brief: An experienced team and very passionate about the game, they are fast and able to attack while holding a pattern down.
MATCH: Lost- They just managed to outgun us and by the second set, we lost the attacking mode and got hold by them. We had failed to take control of the game and we paid for it.
Fifth Match: Pandemonium: Team Brief: An very experienced team, have seen them since Sultan's Cup 2010. A strong defensive but yet able to crack open a team if given a chance.
MATCH: Won: We managed to outgun them on break and pushed forward with Terry and Issmet on the snake while the can side baited and waited for the opening.
Quarterfinals
KillerBeez: Team Brief: Another experienced team. Fast and precise, they are good at fire power and lining. The few teams that are able to use the can to mount an offensive.
MATCH: We lost 2-1, there was a bit of controversial on this game, this was because the Marshall and officials wrongly called the game, the 1st set, we had 3 players alive but the head Marshall called it as two and revoke our point 20 seconds before set 2. this kind screw up our focus and lost the 2nd set, the third set, they simply bunker ed down and hold till game time. Due to the error of the officials, we appealed and KillerBeez showed great showmanship and sportsmanship by playing the quick draw match with us.
We started strong but silly mistakes from the team had cost us dearly and at last 3 man left, we lost the control of the game and let us advance to us. Although the cheer and jeers were there due to our appeal but least justice prevailed. Better to lose or even win this final draw than going around talking about it.
That ended our MPOC time. The venue was very far and the D1&D2 field was so far off from the toilets and food that we had rather starved than walking in the blazing sun for food or found bushes rather than making a 15min walk to the toilet, it was sad that the time screens and PA system was down on the pre lim days, which resulted to heated shouts between teams and officials due to this. I hope next round, we get better facilities, than it would be worthwhile to blaze in the sun.
All in all it was a great tournament and i just cant wait till the next leg.
